Lincoln City Trip Day 2

Memorial Day weekend 5 of us got in a van and left Seattle for Lincoln City and even though it was supposed to rain we went anyway. The following is the second installment of what happened.

After a breakfast of eggs and sausages that Matt brought from the Tri Cities we got in the van and went to the Lincoln City Skatepark. Lincoln City might very well have the most amazing skatepark anywhere on the planet. If it isn’t it’s definitely at the top of my list. Essentially there are five distinct areas to skate and there’s no way that anyone knows all the lines there except maybe Red Scott who built it.

The sun was out and the park was dry and we pretty much spent the entire day there. All morning until we took a break for lunch during which we ate some tacos, checked out the surf / skate shop, and had a session in the street in front of the beach house beforewe went back to the park.

When we got back to the park we had two surprises. The first was our friend Erik Lee who was on his way to San Diego with his family and took time out to stop by and skate with us. It was great to see Erik on his board again because he had had ankle surgery. Stoked to see that. Then we got a park visit from Red. He flys around that park and does some amazing things all over. Super energized fun to have around. Stoked about that too.

More skating in the sun the rest of the day until we needed more food. Pizza and beer for us which let to a bit of skatepark stupidity later because after we ate, you guessed it, we went back to the skatepark. When we got there our other skate pals Dan, June, Morris, Maryanne and Gin were there and Morris was tearing the place up. This, of course, got us stoked to skate and with some slightly impaired judgement. Fun! Me and Andy skated down the snake run without any safety gear and then Mike went to the car and skated well beyond the darkness pulling the trick that should have earned him a case of pudding for sure. Mike pulled a back smith on the big wall (Monty Grind!) in the dark! Nuts. We hobbled back to the van and then the beach house was a little more beer before bed.

It seems that we got to take as many photos (hopefully got video) on day two but enjoy them below:
