I went to Electric Coffin’s show Boxes of Death 2 and it looked like a great success. Despite 1st Avenue being closed off for construction the gallery was full of an enthusiastic bunch of people. The conversations I had with different people were all very positive.
After I grabbed myself a beer I had a look at every single one and I found it fascinating how everyone came up with so many different ways to interpret a coffin. Some wereinside the box (har har), some were outside the box and some were way outside of the box. I also took some photographs of some of them. I only wish I had written down the names of the artists (or at least included the tags in the photos so I could say who did what).
All in all a great show. If you didn’t get a chance to get to Electric Coffin’s last night you still have a chance to have a look when there will be a party to celebrate the gallery space name change and has a closing of Boxes of Death 2.
All of the coffins can also be purchased and were priced from $40 to several hundred.

No.3 with No.11 a close second but that is based purely on it’s contents.
I added a couple more. The contents of 15 is not for the squeamish.
