Sixteen skateparks, family visits and meeting new and old friends for a good time was what it was all about. It was great fun and I hope to do it again really soon. It clocks in at 14 minutes, 17 seconds but you’ll want to hang on for the end and the Dean Lane Fun Day. Thanks so much to our UK corespondent, Scumtash for taking me to so many places and introducing me to so many cool people. Skaters all over the world seem to be instant friends and that’s a damn fine thing.
Well the UK tour is finished. And hopefully soon between not being able to sleep at the right times and work and other things the video will get done. There’s a lot of clips and some of the 16 skateparks got some footage but not all. but mostly it was good fun!
Go Skateboarding Day is in the bag for 2013 (yeah we know it was a week ago) and the crew jumped in the van to check out the new Port Orchard Skatepark. This park is another brand new Grindline gem that makes living in the Pacific North West even better. We had a great time there and as usual didn’t film enough to make a decent video. It was pretty crowded with bikes, scooters and amazingly there were some skateboarders there too. Spitfire pros, the local Welcome crew, and other PNW rippers were on hand. Thrasher filmers and photographers got some photos of some of us standing around.
After we had our fill of bike/scooter kid dodging we went to Bainbridge Island and had a blast there for the rest of the day. One of Grindline‘s oldest parks. The juxtaposition of new and old were not lost on us and we are a blessed bunch to have all of these spots. We skated with the locals, Welcome crew, and a bunch of Seattle heads were there too.
We don’t really need and excuse to skate but we used GSD to our advantage!
