It’s been pretty cold over here, and wet. Or a combination of the 2. We gave an outdoor skate a try the other day and found half the park was frozen over, but you make do with what you’ve got and it turned into the funnest session in ages.
Little ghetto vid of a bunch of tricks that went down before a truly epic game of S.K.A.T.E. on the flatbanks.
The Oh My Back crew (if you can call us that) will be hitting the road for Memorial Day weekend and heading to Lincoln City, Oregon. We have rented a beach house (it’s full so don’t ask) and hitting spots to skate on the way down from Seattle and on the way back.
If you’re considering doing this with us you better get on top of reservations for campsites, beach houses or hotels for the trip because it’s a big travel weekend.
We hope to see you there! We are going to have so much fun!!!
I got my mitts on a copy of Thrasher Magazine‘s 30 year anniversary issue. I remember the first ones on newsprint and how great it was to have information about what was going on in skateboarding after Skateboarder Magazine had gone away. I would have so many old ones if I hadn’t cut out the pages with the best photographs and stuck them on my bedroom wall. I essentially had Thrasher wall paper that grew with every issue.
Subscriptions were fine but I always enjoyed the excuse (any excuse) to go down to Gravity (my local skate shop), get my copy, discuss what was in it and see what new stuff the shop had in. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that 1981 was that long ago and who would have thought that Thrasher and Gravity would be around after all this time.
