3 New Years In A Row!

Mike FSG Southpark

This year marks our third January since we started this thing. A lot has happened and we have had good fun! The first post we did that had anything to do with anything was this one in January of 2011.

Since then we have been on a bunch of skate trips, made stickers (new ones soon!), shirts, hoodies, and generally made a nuisance of ourselves in several states and at least one other country. We also got featured as the site of the week on Skate Daily. Thanks to Bryce Kanights for that, very much.

This year we had a larger than 2 people crew and Marginal Way, Judkins, and Southpark had a role. Southpark being a revisit to the place we took the first photo from the post three years ago. Many personal firsts were had and a big thanks to Hector for taking the photo and bringing the torch this year.

We are three years older and have some bumps and bruises and repairs to prove it with no intentions of stopping. People who “used to skate” probably never really did in the first place.

So here’s to a great 2014 with more skating and more fun! We have some beginnings of trips planned and hopefully we will see you out there skating.

Ride on!

UPDATE: More photos….

New Pullover Hoodies!

PulloverHoodie

At long last we’ve got a very limited quantity of pullover hoodies for your grubby little mits!

You can grab them up in one of three ways. Online in our store, Gravity Sports in Renton, Washington, or get them out of the trunk of my car while I still have them when you see me. They are $40 + $10 shipping when you order them on line (only in the USA for these. Sorry everyone else. This may change later).

We also have a small quantity of XL size shirts with the same logo up for sale. If you hurry they may arrive by your favorite holiday. Or get them with the money your grandma sent after the holidays.

Enjoy!!

Get involved.

Skateboarding can be rewarding in so many ways. Since day one I started building things to skate. The wood across the grass to get a longer run, the janky quarter pipe that fit on the sidewalk, the bigger quarter pipe that could be disassembled and reassembled in the flat driveway next door and put away because the parents wanted it out of sight, the jump ramp that fit perfectly in the mini pickup and on and on. These days the DIY spirit of skateboarding is alive and well and there are projects all over the world. We have a great one in Seattle called Marginal Way which I have had the great fortune to put money into as well as work. Sunday was a work day and though I came unprepared I did my bit… The park is coming along great. Keep up with it on Facebook or the website.

Oh… and by the way. If you skate a DIY spot and show up when it’s being worked on and don’t put in some work or at the very least drop off a six pack then don’t bother skating it. Be part of the community of skateboarding or quit and ride BMX or start jogging.

If you don’t have a DIY spot or a place to skate then what are you waiting for? Build and destroy! There are plenty of how to’s on the internet. Go do it!

Go skate!!

By the way… new hoodies up in a few as I’m building that part now but had to ramble a little bit…
